Members of our Memory Care program, reside in the comfort of the Parcside at The Village of River Oaks in a secured, nurturing environment for residents with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. 

A specially appointed and staffed area of the community. With daily programs centered around SOAR® by Aspenwood. Our proprietary memory care offering that was developed 

in consultation with industry experts and neuroscientists at The Neuroscience of Memory, Mood & Aging at Rice University. This curriculum and our professional caregivers support our residents to live purposefully while still retaining a level of activity and cognitive stimulation in a nurturing environment. 

Guided by research findings, our SOAR® interactive life skills stations, PURPOSE POINTS, prompt members to engage in interactive activities and tasks that are familiar. Such as working in the garden, home workshop, laundry, and nursery. A multi-sensory approach recognizing that each memory care individual is unique, and the care is highly individualized. They are allowed to move through the day partaking in scheduled activities – at their own pace. The set-up of our memory care allows members to experience the day in a setting that provides on- going positivity and comfort. Our specially trained caregivers work with members and their families to create a program that takes into consideration unique needs and hands-on support
